Crémant de Bourgogne Brut Vintage |Power & harmony

Perle Rare 2012 is a powerful and harmonious Crémant de Bourgogne, the result of a memorable vintage in Burgundy, but which, alas, gave low yields. A blend of mainly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Perle Rare encapsulates the elegance of the fruit, enhanced by its low dosage. Blessed with a delicate charm, this wine makes a perfect match for the finest of dishes.

This wine sparkles with an intense amber. Its nose is underscored by notes of Mediterranean lemon and orange blossom, giving way to aromas of fleshy fruit like pêche de vigne and pear. It has a crisp, clean attack; in the mouth, there is a nice balance between tension and suppleness, delicacy and charm, with a harmonious finish. The complex blend of varietals and terroirs makes Perle Rare an exceptional cuvée, ideal for great occasions and refined dining.

Festive pairings: Aperitifs, fresh asparagus, seafood terrine, grilled bass, Bresse capon, along with desserts like an almond financier.

The 2012 vintage was notable for some extreme conditions, with stormy episodes in the spring followed by optimal weather in summer. To respect this fine vintage, a complex assembly of varietals was conceived: Chardonnay from the Beaujolais and the Côte de Beaune; Aligoté from the Mâconnais and the Côte Chalonnaise; Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits, the Couchois, and Louis Bouillot’s vineyards in the Châtillonnais; and lastly, Gamay from the Beaujolais and the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. Ageing for more than three years has brought out the best in this great Crémant de Bourgogne.
